T- Cart.

The T-cart is in reality only a modification of the Stanhope phaeton, without the hood and with a few other trifling differences in detail.

k,,ider Phaeton.

The spider phaeton (Plate LXV), which comes last on this list, is a more modern introduction, and is really one of the smartest types for the young man's driving. It should be brilliantly horsed; animals about fifteen two hands iii height, lightly built, with a great deal of quality and as much all-around action as can be produced, provided it is progressive, are what is required. This carriage is especially useful for horse show work, as it is light enough to enable the horses to do themselves justice.

Foer-zcheelecl Dogcart or ramecart.

This carriage is a smart example of its type, and may be used either tandem or with a pair.

It will be noticed that the lamps used on all these carriages have dark shutters, so that they can with perfect propriety be carried in the daytime. The spider phaeton illustrated here is, however, an exception, and a lamp such as is shown should be dispensed with for
